Governance

Our management and governance structure ensures that we are accountable, transparent and aligned with the interests of our investors and those of the company.

CSC is led by an Executive Committee which provides leadership and strategic direction. To ensure that we carry out the investment strategies agreed with our investors, we also have an Investment Committee, consisting of our most experienced partners, which makes our investment decisions when committing funds.

A General Counsel oversees how we adhere to our own internal policies and operating procedures. We have guidelines to manage conflicts of interest, taking into account our fund management obligations and fiduciary duties. We address conflicts with integrity, professionalism and in the best interest of our investors.

ESG

We are committed to delivering attractive returns for our investors by developing long-term, socially responsible and sustainable businesses. We engaged a leading ESG consulting firm to systematically integrate ESG considerations into our governance and internal procedures.

Our investments are highly aligned with ESG criteria related to climate change and environmental sustainability. Investment teams are responsible for appraising material ESG risks and opportunities as part of the due diligence process.

We apply rigorous corporate governance and make changes required to ensure appropriate structures are in place that align with our requirements and those of our investors. Key areas of focus include anti-corruption measures and principles and regulations for anti-money laundering, diversity, equality, health, safety and employment practices, supply chain management, cyber-security and environmental compliance.

Social Responsibility

Manufacturing Professional Training Program

To address challenges emerging from the digitalization of global manufacturing and the demand for manufacturing skills, since 2021, we, along with our investment portfolio companies, have teamed up with vocational schools to train professionals badly needed by manufacturing enterprises, create internships and training opportunities for more students, and offer students more job choice through jointly delivering and funding special skills training and organizing talent competitions.

Public Welfare Education Support Program

Over the years, we have paid close attention to the education of primary students and the shortage of resources in impoverished areas in the central and western regions of China. We have donated cold-weather clothing, sneakers, books and other supplies to more than 500 students of four primary schools in impoverished counties in Gansu and Hunan provinces, and teamed up with our portfolio company, He Eye Specialist Hospital, to offer needy children routine eye checkups and optometry services.
